About Canis Lupus K9 Academy
Canis Lupus K9 Academy is named after the scientific name for the Wolf. Our vision is to treat dogs with the mentality that they have all descended from wolves and are members of a pack. We began in 2007 as "At Home Pet Care" in St Paul, MN. It began as a Pet Sitting service and has developed into a training and education based partnership with dog owners. Although we no longer offer Pet Sitting we still have the ability to come to your home and work one-on-one with you and your family. We do not yet have a facility to train in but that does not stop us from offering great training!

Looking inside the dog's behavior is important to us. We are not just a "band-aid" on the problem, we look beyond the dog to the root cause and work to fix it. Using positive reinforcement and understanding of the dog's behavior we work with every member of the family in order to give a full and deeper comprehension of why your dog is doing what they are doing and a positive way to work through it to achieve the desired results.
At Canis Lupus K9 Academy we offer many different ways to provide education to dog owners and people working with dogs. Dog training, behavior and education are the 3 things that we focus on. We have worked on-site with dog rescue organizations, boarding kennels, doggy daycares and groomers to provide dog CPR/First Aid training to staff and owners. We have tailored seminar-style discussions on dog behavior, body language, adoptions, among other topics to people working with dogs as well as dog owners and volunteers. Dog Obedience classes have been offered through Community Education, outdoor classes and partnership facilities. Many families have benefited from our in-home consultations.

Our Team
Aimee started Canis Lupus K9 Academy in 2007. She has worked in many aspects of the dog world including Animal Control, Animal Shelter, Boarding Kennel, Veterinarian and even a Pet Store. She has been training dogs since she brought Rex through Level 1 Basic Obedience back in 2003 at AllBreed Obedience in Minnesota. During that time she has obtained acknowledgement as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator for the AKC and co-developed a program for rescue dogs to help enhance the bond with their new owners. Aimee specializes in aggressive/reactive behaviors and bully breeds but has also worked with a variety of rescue dogs and shy/fearful behaviors. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and works at a local Vet clinic since moving to Charleston in the summer of 2019. In 2023 she started her journey toward obtaining a specialty credential in animal behavior through the Academy of Veterinary Behavior Technicians. Once this is complete, she will be the only technician in the state of South Carolina with this acknowledgment!
